Editorial Reviews. From the Back Cover. Is the ancient curse real? Even famous detectives need help. When Sherlock Holmes is stumped by London's greatest. The Jeweled Peacock of Persia (Baker Street Detectives) [Luke Thoene, Jake Thoene is the coauthor of nine books--six mysteries and three historical novels.
Tardy Bells and Witches' Spells: A nerdy high school outcast obsessed with Harry Potter will do anything to be a witch, only the price of magic is higher than she expects. A ghostly figure in a red cape! What does she want twelve-year-old Lillia to know? Explore across America in this cozy preteen mystery series. Having fears is normal. Overcoming fears is essential.
Some books may count as more than one depending on the number of pages. Baker Street Detectives 3- The Jeweled Peacock of Persia goes in the mystery section of my book challenge because it is mystery. I liked the way Baker Street Detectives 3- The Jeweled Peacock of Persia could be about such an interesting mystery yet still keep a balanced tone of positivity. Adding Duff contributed a large portion of the joy. If Duff weren't in the book, there would not be enough cheerful moments.
It would have deaths in it, and without recovering relief, such as Duff talking about something else , it may have been a bit dull. This way, the book had a mixture of emotions.
There were many perfect opportunities to add description, but the book only said what happened instead. It went straight to the point instead of letting the reader picture the event. Comparison with other books by the same author or of the same genre: Absolutely Truly was about a girl solving a light-hearted mystery of who put a note in a copy of Charlotte's Web while Baker Street Detective was about solving the mystery of who is sending snakes to murder people.
However, both books do include children attempting to solve mysteries. Why did the authors choose Peachy to lead the way and be the main focus of the Baker Street Brigade? In the book, the authors chose to make Danny be bitten by a snake and Peachy to lead the way and solve the mystery of the Jeweled Peacock of Persia with Sherlock Holmes. Danny was in a bed at the hospital, unable to communicate with anyone for a large portion of the book. My Thoughts on Patrick Gannon. In my opinion Professor Gannon was very intelligent and skilled at solving mysteries.
This is why I was suspicious that Professor Gannon would attempt to steal Mr. Holmes, which made me worry that he was getting cocky about solving mysteries. If I were Mr. Holmes, I would be afraid that he would try to steal my place.
